Based in Liverpool, Merseyside is a football league known as the Liverpool Football Club founded in 1892 and in 1893 joined the Footbal League. It is also known to be second most successful club in the history of English football.Winnings of the football club’s members wearing their Liverpool football shirts proudly are the following: eighteen League titles, seven FA Cups and a record seven League Cups. It was in 1985 when the Liverpool FC fans were involved in two tragedies, namely: (1) Heysel Stadium disaster in 1985, in which charging Liverpool fans caused a wall to collapse, killing 39 Juventus supporters; (2) Hillsborough disaster, 96 Liverpool supporters lost their lives in a crush against perimeter fencing in 1989 .
Liverpool Football Club was founded after a dispute between the Everton Football Club committee and John Houlding, club president and owner of the land at Anfield.John Houlding founded Liverpool FC to play at Anfield after eight years.
